Papers rant/whining about having to do work

Hi everyone (aka the 14 people who follow me),

research papers are slowing causing me to loose my sanity, i no longer am able to accomplish anything productive cause i know i just have more to do, i have zero hope for doing well, i’m not being dramatic australians grade wicked hard- crazy grading system. The icing on the cake is that the library has no VENDING MACHINES, i can’t articulate how upsetting that is to me right now, i am craving well pretty much any sustenance. aslfkhdslfksd

anyways sorry

Marconi Union | Weightless

Marconi Union created this eight minute track, ‘Weightless’ in collaboration with the British Academy of Sound Therapy. The continuous rhythm of 60 bpm causes brainwaves and heart rate to synchronize, before gradually slowing to 50 bpm.

It is described by many scientific researchers as the ‘most relaxing song ever’.

true story, this track has gotten me through some pretty rough times

The painter heard me laughing and, without looking down, said “Boogie’s looking at you sideways, isn’t he?”

Pictures from my dive at the Yongala Wreck, some are definitely better than others

Yongala Wreck

I went scuba diving at the Yongala Wreck yesterday and experienced that magic that is under the sea. I was seriously overwhelmed by all there was for me to look at. I was only under water for about a hour in total but i wish i could have stayed there all day, seriously wanna be a mermaid right about now. The sea sickness was FOR SURE worth all the awesome creatures i saw. My favorites are- a bull shark, leopard stingrays, moray eel, sea snakes, huge groupers, and a sea turtle that swam right up in my face.

I am so incredibly luck and grateful that I got to experience swimming with all those creatures and that I get to be here in Australia.

Whitsundays

Alright keds, time for Hey Look at all the fun I’m having, Clara edition! (I mean no one likes to read about someone complaining, especially when they are lucky enough to study abroad)

Okay so, for Easter break i went to Airlie beach, a touristy beach town four hours drive south of Townsville. Once there, we realized it was Good Friday and no alcohol places were open, among many other places we were dying to go into…We arrived on friday and the next day we went on a two day sailing trip all around the Whitsunday islands. We got to laze around while the crew did all the tough sailing and fed us. We went on a midnight hike- fun and a little scary being that we couldn’t see where we were going. We got to experience the beauty that is the Whithaven beach- white sands made of pure silicone. I managed to kill my waterproof camera by bringing it underwater…yea dunno what happened there. Also enjoyed the fact that i didn’t have to shower for two days, what uppp, jk… but not really…

p.s  I’m on a Boat

Via things ain't as sweet as they used to be

Daintree Rainforest

Two weekends ago my friend and i took this epic trip to Cairns, a wayy more touristy town to the north, and then took a tour to the Daintree Rainforest. The trip there was epic due to the fact that our bus was eight hours late and we arrived at four at the hostel in Cairns and we then woke up three hours later to catch the tour bus to the Daintree Rainforest, soo tired. The Daintree Rainforest was so incredible, it was amazing to be in a place that has been continuously around for millions of years- at least that’s what they told me.

The highlights of the trip:

- Ziplining through the rainforest!! not as crazy and adrenaline fueled as i hoped but still an awesome experience

- Walking through the rainforest and learning about all the millions of years old plants, some that can cause major pain. One plant has miniscule pieces of glass-like particles on its leaves and if you touch it severe pain will result that could potentially last for years…whattt. Also saw a SICK lizard chilling on a tree totally camouflaged, no pics cause my camera batteries died :(

- Soaking in the beautiful views of the beach!!!!!!

- Tasting exotic fruit ice cream- some def better than others

- Swimming in the Mossman Gorge, part of the rainforest

- Saw these big spiders everywhere

Pictures from when i went to the Daintree Rainforest. The one of the parking lot is from waiting for the greyhound bus that was eight hours late cause the roads flooded. The Daintree Rainforest is one of the oldest rainforests!!
